Cooking food over a grill gives great flavor, is low fat, and saves clean up time in the kitchen. When food sticks badly, it can even fall apart (especially fish or burgers)
To prevent food from sticking to the grill, remove the grate while the grill is preheating. When you are ready to cook, place the grate on the grill and then put the food on immediately. This way the food and grate are the same temperature and the food will not stick (just think of your tongue and a flagpole in winter time).
Another option is to put a small amount of oil on a plate, and rub the food in it before placing it on the grill. This works well as you continue to cook several rounds of food.
